| Students are taught how to roll in the comfort our pool. Several styles of rolling are available, depending on the flexibility of the student. Through Eric's unique teaching method, most students are rolling by the end of the class. | ||||

| Kayaking strokes are taught and students gain confidence in the safety of flat or gently moving water. Turning strokes, draw strokes, etc. are practised with an emphasis on a strong forward stroke and use of proper musclulature. | ||||

| Once you know how to roll, and you can control your kayak on flat water, you are ready to try your skills in moving water. Peeling out of and catching eddies, ferrying, Eskimo rescue, river features, and basic river safety are taught in the river class. | ||||
Osprey’s lessons are taught in small groups to maximum the training and experience of our students. By having a chance to rest as well as to learn by watching others, Osprey increases your kayaking experience and success.

Our lead kayak instructor, Eric Link, has been kayaking for 15 years. He is an ACA trained Whitewater Instructor and has traveled the world making the TWITCH series of kayaking videos and produced Staying Alive, an instructional video of swift water rescue techniques |

Equipment
Equipment is provided by Osprey Rafting Company. The cost is included in the course fee. All classes will meet at Osprey Rafting Company.
